The new Transfer Center is located in Room 035 of the McDowell Center and will assist students who are planning to transfer to a four-year university.
Schoolcraft College has opened a new Transfer Center in Room 035 of the McDowell Center. The new Center is a dedicated space for student support services for those individuals who are planning to transfer to a four-year college or university from Schoolcraft College. It will also provide meeting spaces for students to talk to representatives from the four-year institution they are interested in attending.
According to an article on Schoolcraft College’s website, Rachael Szymanski, who serves as the college’s Transfer Coordinator and an academic advisor, was quoted as saying of the transfer process and the new space, “Once a student decides they want to transfer, that’s the point they should come see us. We aim to provide that soft handoff between us and the four-year institution so students can meet with them here and make connections now.”
The Transfer Center will assist potential transfer students by helping them figure out the requirements for transfer and plan their Schoolcraft College education accordingly. The Center will also provide students with various resources that will help them better understand their options, including resources from the schools they are interested in. Students will also be able to use the Transfer Center to meet with representatives from their potential transfer institutions.
Schoolcraft College states that 29% of its students transfer to a four-year institution, with the top transfer destinations being Wayne State University, Eastern Michigan University, Michigan State University, and the University of Michigan.
The Transfer Center is intended to make the process more accessible and more seamless for students by providing them with designated space for meetings and resources for a clear, straightforward transfer.
