The transfer agreement will allow students who earn an associate degree in Pre-Health Professions with pre-pharmacy emphasis to transfer into Lipscomb University’s Bachelor of Science in Pre-Pharmacy program.
Nashville State Community College and Lipscomb University have formed a pharmacy pathway that will make for a seamless transition for students who earn an associate degree in Pre-Health Professions with pre-pharmacy emphasis to continue on to study in the Bachelor of Science in Pre-Pharmacy program. The agreement also comes along with the potential for students who follow this pathway to advance even further into Lipscomb University’s Doctor of Pharmacy program.
According to an article on Nashville State Community College’s website, Nashville State Community College’s president, Shanna L. Jackson, was quoted as saying of the new opportunity for students, “Helping students see what’s possible and giving them a clear flight path to get there is at the heart of our mission at Nashville State. Our continued collaborations with Lipscomb University expand the opportunities available to our pre-pharmacy graduates and improve opportunities as they take the next steps toward meaningful careers.”
The transfer agreement between the two institutions will open up a seamless pathway for students to continue their education journey. Students who graduate from Nashville State Community College with an associate degree in Pre-Health Professions with an emphasis in Pre-Pharmacy will be able to transfer to Lipscomb University to continue on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Pharmacy. If students wish to continue their education even further, they may have the opportunity to enter the university’s Doctor of Pharmacy program.
Candice McQueen, the president of Lipscomb University, shared her thoughts about the agreement, and what it will mean for students and the community as a whole. She said, “Nashville State has been a strong partner with Lipscomb for many years. This new pathway builds on that collaboration, creating a seamless pathway into our pharmacy program, expanding opportunity, accelerating student success and directly meeting critical workforce needs in pharmacy and health care across Middle Tennessee.”
